| Details: | SUMMARY: FU to REPEAT Positive total coliform DETAILS: Fairview tested positive again for Total Coliform at both sites tested in September for the routine coliform testing. One site tested positive last month and the second site is on Fairview Road at the end of the system. Dave has talked to their engineer and he believes it is due to suspended air in our water from wells #1 and #2 that is breaking loose the scum layer that builds up on the inside of pipes exposing bacteria that accumulates in the pipes and it is causing positives for total coliforms.He was running well #3 (which did NOT have any suspended air) and running well #1 as a back-up until a bearing failed on the pump shaft on well #3.He is getting well #3 repaired and will begin running it as soon as it is repaired since it is pumping clear with no suspended air. A soon as well #3 is repaired and the summer demand drops off they plan to begin flushing lines and shock chlorinating dead-end lines as they flush. ACTION NEEDED: none | ||
