Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on Total Coliform Positive Temporary Routine Sample taken 9-25-14. DETAILS: One of five temporary routine coliform samples taken 9-25-14 was positive. I went out to the system this morning and talked with the treasurer (Anne Wenner). Anne and I took chlorine residual readings at two houses-- one had no residual, one had 0.2 ppm. Since I was there two weeks ago they have replaced the chlorinator (the last one stopped working). Today Anne is getting the required NSF Approved sodium hypochlorite-- she was not aware that they were still using household bleach. Anne will be monitoring to determine that the chlorine residual is 1.0 ppm as we require. Additionally I told Anne that Boil Water Order would continue until at least the 1.0 ppm chlorine residual is consistent and samples are good.Since they are on a boil water order repeat sampling is not needed ACTION NEEDED: 1. Obtain and use correct hypochlorine solution.2. Assure that chlorinator pump is working.3. Maintain Free Chlorine residual at 1.0 ppm4. Daily check chlorine residual and record test results, send results to state.5 Take five temporary routine samples during October 2014. | ||
