Details: SUMMARY: Follow up on PCE detect - well #5 entry point & total xylene - well #8 DETAILS: Discussed 10/15/14 0.0015 mg/L detect of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) from the entry point of well #5 and 9 with only well 5 producing. While level is over detection limit of 0.0005 mg/L, the levels are consistent with previous detected levels from well #5. Since results are reliably and consistently below the MCL of 0.005 mg/L, stay on annual sampling during first quarter, beginning with first quarter 2015. Also discussed 10/15/14 total xylene result from well #8 was ND with a detection limit of 0.0015 mg/L. Orelap consulted and indicates total consists of p-, m-, and o- individual xylene species, all with det. Limits of 0.0005 mg/L. Since det. Limits are additive, result for total xylene is considered non-detect at the appropriate detection limit. ACTION NEEDED: Continue on annual sampling for PCE from well #5 in first quarter, with next sample in first quarter 2015. Continue total xylene monitoring with VOC group once every 3 years from well #8, with next sample in 2017. City may continue to report total xylene results.
