| Details: | In response to a customer complaint that the water service was interrupted during the recent power outage due to the snow storm over the weekend of Feb 14-15 without any communication from the system, I reviewed appropriate protocols with operator, Grant Johnson. We discussed that when the system experiences a loss in positive pressure, where customers are out of water for any period of time, a boil water notice must be issued to all customers. We reviewed the procedure of restoring service and adequate pressures, flushing system, and collecting coliform sample(s). Once coliform absent sample results are received, customers may be notified that the boil water notice may be lifted. Noted Multnomah County Health Dept. needs to be contacted during future no pressure situations. | ||
