Details: SUMMARY: Temporary Increase in pH DETAILS: Matt called this morning to report that the pH of their finished water at the entry point to the water system increased overnight and reached a high of pH 8.8. Matt wanted to notify me of the issue and requested info about any public notification that might be required. Due to changing conditions at the intake, the water system activated both surface diversion and infiltration gallery, resulting in a change in source water pH. The operators also slightly increased the hypochlorite injection rate. pH was in the upper 6 range Monday afternoon, but jumped up during the night and was high this morning. No notification is required for this event. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time.
