Details: | Via paper mail: I am reaching out to you as the local public health authority and your contact for the Safe Drinking Water Program. Recently the State Drinking Water Program was made aware of the number of connections and the population that Shaniko Water System currently has (35 water meters and a population of 38). Water systems that have over 25 daily users and over 15 connections are considered community water systems. This requires a certain array of water sampling and triennial sanitation surveys with the county health department. I have switched the identification of the water system, thus starting the monitoring period for sampling. Attached is your monitoring schedule as of today, March 3. Although the ranges for some of these samples are up to 9 years from now, I would consider earlier sampling as the previous sampling done on the system hasn’t been since 2002-2008 to ensure that the water is safe. Due this year is Lead and Copper sampling, which means we need you to determine testing sites that you will use each time you take these samples. The sites should be chosen first from buildings that would have lead or copper piping, I will attached criteria to provide more detail. This sample is due between June and September. Also note that 1 routine coliform sample is due monthly in distribution, starting March. Please feel free to contact me for more details, thank you. |
