Details: | SUMMARY: Technical Consultation: CT Calculation DETAILS: We are provided a technical consultation to Phil Davis regarding he wanting to ensure that his system has the ability to perform 4-log disinfection (if it were ever required following a water test at the source that is positive for E-Coli bacteria). We determined that (as the system is calibrated today) it is likely that his system provides approximately 86 minutes of residence time after the chlorine injection (before the first user). These calculations are available in the file.Phil measured the spring water temperature on 2/11/15-- it was: 10ºC.Given the water measured temperature and the estimated residence time, a minimum chlorine residual of 0.07 mg/l should be appropriate to accomplish 4-log disinfection. If only the pipeline is considered for water residence time (not the reservoir), a minimum chlorine residual of 0.28 mg/l should be appropriate to accomplish 4-log disinfection ACTION NEEDED: None. These calculations are only meant to establish written verification that the Odell Water Company system is capable of achieving 4-log disinfection |
