Details: | SUMMARY: 4-log or residual maintenance DETAILS: System does not have a history of ecoli so we discussed the option of the system switching from 4-log to residual maintenance. The chlorine level is frequently below the minimum of 0.5 when the coliform samples are taken, sometimes as low as 0. I explained that they would have to do source assessment monitoring of well #2 for 12 months and then it would be determined if they could switch to residual maintenance. I also explained that if they ever had and ecoli positive they would have to reconstruct the well. A letter sent to the system in 2009 stated that they would be required to maintain a minimum residual of 1.5. This was an error. The system is required to keep a minimum of 0.5. Wanda discussed all of this with her husband and they decided to stay on 4-log. ACTION NEEDED: none |
