| Details: | SUMMARY: GENERAL WATER SYSTEM EVALUATION DETAILS: Idanha has a surface water system which serves 140 people through 90 connections. The City of Idanha has a packaged water treatment plant consisting of a rapid sand filter preceded by upflow clarifier. Water is disinfected with sodium hypochlorite and flows to the main reservoir for additional contact time. The water system for the City is in poor condition. The water treatment plant has equipment issues. The distribution system has very significant leakage. It was requested by the City administrator that the OHA-DWS meet with the city council to provide input and recommendations on how to proceed toward water system improvements. Laura Burns (OHA-DWS) requested that the Circuit Rider assist with the inspection of the current state of the water system and provide input at the council meeting. Along with OHA-DWS staff, inspected the operations and conditions of the water treatment plant. Attended special city council meeting and provided input to council regarding the condition of the water system and the next steps that need to be taken. ACTION NEEDED: Complete tracer test report. | ||
