| Details: | SUMMARY: Coliform Investigation DETAILS: The USFS operates a water system at the Longbow Organization Camp, which sits alongside the South Santiam River. The water system has had total coliform positives in 9/13, 6/14, 7/14 and 9/14. The water system has a hand pump which pumps water out of a shallow well. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Betsy Perry (OHA-DWS) to in regard to the possibilities of providing MPA sampling at a hand pumped well. Upon discussion of the system, the Circuit Rider also requested information regarding the hand pump, as this can be a possible source of coliform. Discussed methodology for collecting an MPA sample. Reviewed the hand pump type. Also, reviewed the well log for the system to determine if the well could be the likely source of coliform issues. ACTION NEEDED: Provide assistance with MPA collection if required. | ||
