Details: | SUMMARY: discussed on-going significant deficiencies DETAILS: discussed with Debbie her email about efforts to correct deficiencies and miscellaneous violations. recap: 1. Monday collect and submit to the lab a total coliform sample from south system2. Collect and submit to the lab a nitrate sample from the south system.3. Go look at the pipe coming from the south well leading to the tank. Make sure the faucet where you are checking chlorine is before the tank and not after it. 4. Next, Go look at the holding tank for the south system and see where the pipe from the well enters the tank. There is a float switch in the tank that tells the well pump to turn on when water is low and to turn off when it gets to a certain height. When the water turns off, how high is the water in the tank? Is the water higher than the pipe coming from the well? If the answer is “yes” you need some kind of valve on that pipe to keep chlorine from coming back to the tap where you need to sample the source water. If the answer is “no” it means the chlorine is coming from inside your well. The only way to get it out is to either keep running it until it all goes away or add compound that neutralizes the chlorine. If you need a recommended compound to do this call me. 5. Start plan review for the changes you’ve made to the south system. Call 971-673-0405. Do the south plan review before the north plan review because you won’t be using the north water for many days. ACTION NEEDED: as above |
