Details: | SUMMARY: Corrosion Control Recommendations DETAILS: The Eddyville Charter School has a groundwater water system that serves approximately 200 students and staff. The October 2011 lead and copper tests resulted in lead levels over the EPA Action Level with copper levels approaching the Action Level (but not exceeding). The Circuit Rider was briefly contacted by Mr. Lightle to discuss the possibility of fixture replacement. Subsequently, it was made known by County Staff that the school’s existing corrosion control system may not have been in operation. Previously completed preliminary recommendations report which recommended caustic soda for pH adjustment due to the presence of high iron levels. Met with Landon Lightle in to move school forward with corrosion control project. Corresponded with Culligan (Eugene) in regard to pilot testing that was done with a hybrid filter/calcite contactor. Modified previous report to show filter/contactor as a viable option for the school. ACTION NEEDED: School needs to move forward with corrosion control improvements. Design of such improvements are not covered by the circuit rider contract. |
