| Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Alert Response DETAILS: Received alert for nitrate result of 0.0593 mg/l from sample collected 4/2/15. Spoke with Joe Pries. The regeneration timing of the ion exchange system has been reduced from every two weeks to every other day to improve the systems performance. Spoke with Scott Petterson with Lindsay EcoWater. The ion exchange media was shedding at the time of the 4/2/15 sample. Another arsenic sample collected on 4/8/15 tested at 0.00299 mg/l, so no acute arsenic public notice required. An MCL violation will be issued, so an arsenic MCL violation public notice will be required after the end of the second quarter. The treatment system is still having problems treating the nitrate to below the MCL, likely due to sulfate interference. A nitrate public notice was distributed on 4/8/15. ACTION NEEDED: System to continue sampling, make adjustments to the treatment system, provide public notice as required. | ||
