| Details: | SUMMARY: Summary of Site Visit and Previous Phone Conversations DETAILS: Previous Phone Conversations:6/10/15 – Gene Fortune called Hood River County Health Department and left a voice message because he received a notice in the mail stating that the water system was ‘not in compliance’. He was confused because he felt that he was making progress toward reaching compliance.We assumed that the mailed notice referred to the monitoring and reporting schedule for radiation analytes that was automatically created when the water system was inventoried. We told Gene, via voice mail, not to worry about the radiation monitoring for now-- we want him to focus on the fecal contamination of the water system first by completing the formal plan review of the water system source.6/12/15 – Gene Fortune called us back again to discuss the radiation monitoring schedule-- we spoke on the phone at approximately 8:30am. Again, we asked that the water system focus on resolving the e-coli contamination and submit plans for formal review before addressing the chemical monitoring schedule.Gene also reported that they had received a report from HBH consulting which recommended that a ‘feasibility study’ be conducted to determine the best course of action for resolving the e-coli contamination.As well, Gene reported that they were researching additional funding opportunities via the circuit rider program. ACTION NEEDED: Formally disclose the water system’s intent toward reaching compliance (including specific proposed actions and timelines)--(2) Resolve fecal contamination of water-- and(3) Complete other requirements as directed by the Oregon Health Authority including Plan Review. | ||
