| Details: | SUMMARY: public notice & follow up after confirmed TC DETAILS: I received a copy of the Tier 2 public notice by email today, but it did not contain all the required elements. I reached Yogi, and we discussed what it needs to include, and I resent him the template. Meanwhile, he explained the difficulty in taking a source sample at the spring because there is no raw sample tap. It is a state-reg system and has not been surveyed since installing such taps became required. They are using a bypass pipe below the spring as the best option for obtaining a source sample, but the bypass line was not very clean, though they have tried to flush it out. Yogi suspects the problem is in the aging line connections and/or valves in the distribution system, and will put in a funding request to replace some of these next season. If the line connections are indeed the problem, he fears there will be positive TC results again in August. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of latest coliform samples (including the source one taken via the bypass line), as well as the results of the 5 temporary routine samples in August. Also, await receipt of revised Tier 2 Public Notice. Recommend strongly that they add a raw water sample tap at the spring. | ||
