Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water notice issued DETAILS: A boil water notice was issued on 8/13/15 based on the results of the repeat samples collected on 8/12/15. 3 triggered source samples and 2 repeat samples were collected. One repeat showed E. coli and another repeat and 1 of the triggered source samples came back positive for total coliform. Phone calls were made to: the contacts for the water system (Scott and Mark) and Malheur County Environmental Health. There are two large fires in the region and there are several hundred firefighters camped in the school. In speaking to Scott about the positives, he was not sure about the sample tap used that turned E. coli. It was an outside tap and the homeowner also has a private well. The county is working on the correction procedures and getting the notice distributed. The storage tank is to be dosed with calcium hypochlorite, let sit and then flushed throughout the system. The system will be monitored for residual chlorine. Once no more residual is seen, 5 distribution samples will be collected. ACTION NEEDED: System to be treated and flushed. To be released from the boil order, 5 clean distribution samples are to be collected. |
