| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate and Coliform Alert Response DETAILS: Received alert for nitrate result of 19.1 mg/l from sample collected on 8/19/15. Also received alert for TC positive result from a routine coliform sample collected on 8/19/15. Contacted Joe. A power interruption to the treatment system was suggested as the cause of the high nitrate result. I advised that since it appeared the sample was representative of water that was being supplied to customers, a public notice for the nitrate exceedance must be distributed as soon as possible. Also reviewed the repeat and triggered source sampling requirements as described in the written coliform sampling plan to follow up on the positive coliform result. ACTION NEEDED: System to distribute nitrate public notice, send dated copy to DWS, and collect another nitrate sample after treatment system is operating properly. System to collect repeat and triggered source coliform samples. | ||
