| Details: | SUMMARY: Disinfection By-Products Issues DETAILS: The Lawson Acres water system supplies water to approximately 75 people through 27 connections. The water system has an aging package filtration plant which treats water from Cow Creek. Sodium hypochlorite is added to the treatment system prior to filtration. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Rebecca Templin (OHA-DWS) following high disinfection by-products test results. The system exceeded the MCL for boy HAA5 and TTHM. Visited water system to inspect the water treatment plant and make recommendations to lower DBPs. Pre-chlorination is a primary indicator of DBP problems. The WTP has aging chemical feed systems which may be contributing to the DBP issue, both through the over feeding of pre-chlorination and through the misdosing of coagulant. Recommended replacing old chemical feed pump. ACTION NEEDED: Perform contact tracer testing. Follow up on DBP issues. | ||
