Details: | SUMMARY: : Total Coliform positive-- sample date 9/02/2015. DETAILS: Routine sample for Total Coliform resulted in positive. Four repeat samples must becollected within 24 hours. ACTION NEEDED: When a routine sample is total coliform-positive, a set of repeat samples must be collected: three repeats (distribution) and 1 triggered (source) within 24 hours of being notified of the positive results by the certified laboratory. Systems which collect one routine sample/month or less must collect at least four repeat samples for each total coliform-positive sample found. The system must collect at least one repeat sample from the sampling tap where the original total coliform-positive sample was taken, and at least one repeat sample at a tap within five service connections upstream and atleast one repeat sample at a tap within five service connections downstream of the original sampling site. All repeat samples must be collected on the same day. Additionally, the firm must collect five routine samples the month following the routine present sample regardless of whether an MCL violation occurred or if repeat sampling was absent. There seems to be an issue as this is the third month with a total coliform positive. The month of August had no total coliforms present. The Drinking Water Program has suggested that firm does not chlorinate the water system until further notice. Since the well is shallow (50 ft.) there are many variables where the contamination could be occurring. | ||
