| Details: | SUMMARY: Pruitt Well 5 (SRC-BA) off-line due to broken pump DETAILS: Alan Mustain called to report that when they went to turn on Well #5, it sounded like the pump line shaft broke and they were unable to pump water. They are not going to be able to repair the pump before the end of the year, which means that they will be unable to take their annual source assessment sample for 2015. I asked him if the well was used this year and he said yes, it was used during high demand in the summer, but had been off-line for a few months as demand dropped off. I recommended he take the sample as soon as the well is operational and to conduct annual source assessment sampling earlier in the year. I called back and left a message that if they normally take a coliform sample prior to turning the well on each year for the high demand season, that the sample would count and suggested that taking a source sample prior to turning the well on each year might be a good practice to adopt. ACTION NEEDED: Unless the well can be fixed in time or sampling had been done earlier in the year, the City will get a monitoring violation for not having completed source assessment sampling for well 5 in 2015. Violation will need to be reported in the CY2015 Consumer Confidence Report. | ||
