| Details: | SUMMARY: Confirmed need for boil advisory DETAILS: I called Steve because two confirmation samples collected at the well were E. coli present which triggers the need to issue a boil water advisory because the source is considered contaminated with fecal materia and the water system does not provide 4-log disinfection of its source water. Steve argued that a absent distribution sample collected near the same time and the existing chlorine residual negate the need for the advisory but I explained that without confirmation of full (4-log) disinfection its not certain the water is safe and water users have the right to know of the risk. Steve stated he would issue the advisory. ACTION NEEDED: A copy of the boil advisory must be submitted to OHA and water system to proceed with corrective action due to the confirmation of E. coli in the well. | ||
