Details: | SUMMARY: Summary of lead and copper activities DETAILS: Summary of water systems response to lead and copper action level exceedances: Sept. 2013: lead and copper action levels exceeded.9/24/13: County discussed options with system (treatment or plumbing replacement), see contact report this date. County sent letter to system regarding options and deadlines on 9/25/13.10/23/13: System submitted plan to replace plumbing (see contact report this date). Sampling plan approved. Note: some connections are residential-- plumbing replacement will not be allowed if any residential sites exceed (treatment would be required). 10/24/13: Notice of lead results provided to residential connections and posted at commercial locations.11/27/13: All sites sampled for lead and copper according to sampling plan. One site invalidated and retested due to not being sampled under normal usage (see 12/19/13 contact report). Some commercial sites exceeded action level for copper but no residential sites. Plumbing replacement conducted 12/11/13 at commercial sites that exceeded including copper piping replaced with Pex-a piping.12/20/13: Plumbing replacement sites retested-- all passed.1/21/14: System put on two 6-month round of lead and copper monitoring at 5 sites to consist of the 5 highest residential sites based on previous testing. Plumbing Replacement treatment code (LCCA) added to system.May 2014: First round of lead and copper monitoring done, all passed.August 2014: Second round of lead and copper monitoring done, all passed.8/29/14: System put on annual monitoring beginning in 2015 (note: system failed to monitor in 2015 and received a violation). ACTION NEEDED: System needs to conduct lead and copper monitoring this summer 2016. |
