Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up to 2005 lead action level exceedence DETAILS: Joel and I spoke on 2/19/16 about the Sept 2005 lead action level exceedence. DWS had written letter on 7/18/06, requesting re-sampling, referencing discussions between system and Columbia County about elevated site as being unrepresentative, with brass fixtures and plumbing concerns. System did not sample with the prescribed timeframe in letter (by 9/30/06). DWS has decided follow up for action level exceedence (public education, water quality parameters, corrosion control) is not necessary at this time for following reasons: 1. Four sample rounds of 5-samples each since 05 have been well below lead & copper action levels at the 90th %tile, 2. Two of sample rounds included re-sample at elevated location, 3. System has drilled new well and installed new chlorination system since elevated result, and is not using source that was used in 2005. ACTION NEEDED: No action specifically at this time. System to continue on annual sampling at 5 approved tap locations for lead and copper, with next sample in summer 2016. Columbia County to provide assistance with future lead and copper sampling questions. |
