Details: | SUMMARY: DBP monitoring reduction granted DETAILS: Matt Johnson e-mailed inquiring about the status of their DBP schedule, which he thought was quarterly for only one year. Testing records show source water TOC is well below 4 mg/l and nearly all TOC results have been below 2 mg/l and the system has been getting about 50% TOC removal through the treatment plant. DBP results from quarterly sampling completed in 2015 are also well below ½ the MCL for both TTHM and HAA5. I e-mailed him back letting him know that they are eligible for reduction to annual DBP sampling (see action needed below for specifics). ACTION NEEDED: DWS to update the DBP schedule to reflect an annual sampling frequency to be done in October of each year at 7530 SE Amity Road, beginning in 2016 (i.e., the next DBP sample is due to be taken in Oct 2016). October is the month that had the highest TTHM LRRA and OEL results as well as the month of highest historical HAA5 LRAA results. To remain on reduced monitoring annual DBP sampling will need to demonstrate TTHM LRAA less than or equal to 0.060 mg/l and HAA5 LRAA less than or equal to 0.045 mg/l along with having source water TOC (based on quarterly monitoring) less than or equal to 4.0 mg/l. |
