Details: The City emailed a letter to DWS on April 9th with concerns regarding multiple phosphate excursions in March after minimum levels had been set to meet corrosion control treatment requirements under the Lead and Copper Rule. The City will meet with DWS next week to discuss corrosion control.

On April 22nd, DWS met with the City to discuss the April 9th letter with concerns about the phosphate minimums established in March, fluctuating phosphate levels causing numerous excursions, and need to stabilize phosphate levels. Once stabilized, two 6-month lead and copper demonstration rounds at the standard number of sites will be needed to reestablish phosphate minimums. DWS requested the City provide an action plan by July 1, 2021 describing operational changes to be made to stabilize phosphate levels. DWS sent a letter to the City on April 27th to summarize the situation and next steps.
