Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on customer inquiry DETAILS: Liz called today with questions on the boil water notice posted earlier today for a loss in positive pressure occurring at the water system earlier this week. She asked about system and regulating agency responsibilities for such an event. I indicated that the regulations require a system to deliver a boil water notice to all customers when a system loses positive pressure. System follows best practices of fixing the leak, restoring adequate service pressure throughout the system, flushing, and collecting a representative number of coliform bacteria samples, and obtain coliform absent results, before being allowed to lift the boil water notice. As she has more specific questions on the status of actions to date, and a planned date for lifting the boil water notice, I referred her to Clackamas County and to the operator. I indicated the boil water notice is still in effect ACTION NEEDED: DWS to coordinate with Clackamas County Health Department to inform them of the inquiry, and provide support as necessary. |
