| Details: | SUMMARY: We Discussed the Health Hazards Represented by the Presence of Arsenic in the Water DETAILS: Mr. Xavier is the most responsible person available at the facility and wanted to learn more about the hazard represented by the presence of arsenic. A copy of the health effects bulletin regarding the presence of arsenic in drinking water was provided via a web link. He confirmed that the firm is continuing to work with the firm that installed the abatement system last year to verify that it is functioning properly. He also stated that they are considering removing water fountains attached to the system and that the firm has been providing bottled water to employees. We also discussed installing signage in the bathrooms. It was discouraged to describe the water as nonpotable as that would not be an accurate description. ACTION NEEDED: Maintain public notice posting until annual average falls below MCL. Repair arsenic abatement system to provide water under MCL. Continue with quarterly sampling frequency. | ||
