Details: Ron called today in search of some helpful tips. Rufus contracts with a consultant to break up sediment in their well from time to time. In preparation for the consultants, he had the well opened up, but covered. During this time, some city employees needed to retrieve a cable from the well. Ron noticed, that they may've forgotten to cover the well head as it was left open. Ron routinely inspects his well depth due to fluctuations in flow. After noticing the well was left open, he checked the depth of the well and was finding that his tape was getting snagged on something... Ron is afraid that whatever is in there, may contaminate his well. After reaching out to Michelle Byrd, we came up with some processes moving forward to determine if the water has been compromised in the well and in distribution. Ron should take raw samples at the wellhead and again in distribution. After getting samples back, we will determine whether shock chlorination is necessary or not. Locking the well head will be advised as well.
