Details:	SUMMARY: Corrosion Control DETAILS: The City of Amity owns and operates a surface water treatment system. The water system serves 1460 persons through 600 connections. The Circuit Rider was contacted by OHA staff to assist the City of Amity with corrosion control issues. The City of Amity has experienced exceedences of the Copper Action Level in 2008, 2012, 2013 and November 2015. The water treatment plant currently uses soda ash for corrosion control, but the appropriateness of the system should be reevaluated. The current soda ash injection system does not appear to be providing a consistent and predictable dosage. When the City has to switch from the infiltration gallery to the emergency pump intake, the water quality can vary significantly in just a day. The city has no method for predicting the needed soda ash dosage. Visited water treatment plant. Provided preliminary recommendations for improving the performance of the soda ash feed system. ACTION NEEDED: Modify recommendations as needed based on input from City and OHA.
