Details:	SUMMARY: POSITIVE E. COLI DETAILS: Pioneer Park Co-Op owns and operates a groundwater system that serves approximately 50 persons through 23 connections. The system source is a well. The water is disinfected at the well using liquid NaOCl. Circuit Rider was contacted by Jim Solvent (Marion County) following a positive e. Coli test in January 2016. The Circuit Rider had previously looked at contact time for the system, as well as performing Microparticulate Analysis sampling. Reviewed possible source of the contamination. Focus has been on the well due to its proximity to the creek. Also reviewed requirements of the Groundwater Rule with water system personnel, including possible solutions. A previous study had determined that the contact time for the chlorination was 4 minutes. Discussed methods for achieving 4-Log Inactivation of Viruses, including UV systems. ACTION NEEDED: Assist with decision making process for the water system.
