Details: | Ron called to see if it would be okay for "SUEZ" (contractor) to feed a weighted optical to get a visual to whatever is hanging up their pipe when they annually "blast" the well with C02 to dislodge calcium deposits and increase flow. After reaching out for guidance, I informed Ron that the decision would ultimately fall on the systems operator and his comfort level with SUEZ providing professional services/maintenance to their drinking water system. Ron did reach out to several resources, such as local well drillers and state regulators, but was hoping we may be able to provide further assistance. I directed him to the states drinking water page and helped him navigate to the Circuit Rider Program, in hopes that they may be able to provide some assistance. I also told him that we are available for any further questions for guidance. ***Update*** Ron talked with Robert Wood with Water Resources in The Dalles. Ron left with the impression that liquid C02 shouldn't be a problem for his well. I told Ron that he would ultimately be making the decision whether to move forward with trying to remove whatever blockage is in the well, but that I would encourage him to have a good understanding of the process, the effects it may have on the system and to ensure that he clear all chlorine from the well and check it with Raw Water Sample. |
