| Details: | SUMMARY: DBP alert DETAILS: The recent DBP results exceeded in both TTHM and HAA5. Steve collected these during some of the first rains of the season, when organic content was likely higher than normal. It may have also been around the same time they were having trouble with their floccing (now corrected). I explained that these results mean they must remain on quarterly sampling until 4 quarters are below the MCL for each analyte (they had 3 quarters in row below this year). They pre-chlorinate there, which may be a factor in allowing DBP formation. Steve also had questions on interpreting some of their jar test results versus what they see in the tanks. ACTION NEEDED: Gave Steve the contact information for Evan Hofeld on our DWS staff for the jar test questions. Contacted the Circuit Rider about the likely related DBPs/pre-chlorination/new tracer study issues. | ||
