Details:	SUMMARY: SOURCE WATER SUPPLY AND TREATMENT DETAILS: The Circuit Rider was contacted by Melissa Dailey with CASA. CASA is assisting the residents of Umpqua Ranch with purchasing the park from the previous owner. As part of the work, CASA is evaluating infrastructure needs for the system. The Circuit Rider was contacted to provide assistance with evaluation and recommendations for the water system. Specific to this Contact Report, CASA is seeking recommendations for the existing wells. The system has 4 active wells and 3 inactive wells. The existing wells do not provide enough water to the community at all times. When the wells do not produce enough water, the system uses the emergency intake on the North Umpqua River. Reviewed the existing surface water rights and emergency water treatment system. Provided recommendations to CASA regarding viability of existing water treatment plant. The existing plant would, at a minimum, need to be upgraded with an OHA-approved cartridge filter system. It is recommended that more in-depth study be done regarding the water supply. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance regarding water source and operational issues.
