| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow Up to Nitrate Alert DETAILS: Alert ID CHEM7444 and 7467Spoke with owner Kodiak and discussed confirmation nitrate results. Original results (12/15) were not totally respresentative of well #2 as the valve to well #1 was not completely closed and well #1 has the higher nitrates and therefore EP-B results were higher than normal. Confirmation results for well #2 was 6.7. Discussed options: 1) use only well #2, 2) install treatment, 3) blend sources and re-plumb to mix first and have one entry point. For the short term, Kodiak has turned well #1 off and will be using only well #2 and continue to take qtrly nitrate samples from both sources. He submitted copy of PN and posted 1/3/17. He is getting proposals and bids from water treatment companies to install Nitrate reduction for well #1. I reminded him that plan review is required prior to installation. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to take quarterly nitrate samples even if only using well #2. Continue to explore treatment options. Continue to post PN until samples show well #2 consistently under 10 mg/L. | ||
