Details:	SUMMARY: Level 2 Coliform Investigation DETAILS: A level 2 coliform investigation was conducted with a phone call to Frank. The source of total coliform positives on January 23rd and 25th are thought to be associated with a delay to put into service a new waterline installed on SW Mustang Road located in the southern portion of the distribution system above the cistern. The waterline was disinfected and sampled after installation. However, it was several weeks before it was put into service due to bad weather. No sampling was done before the waterline was put into service. Additional sampling confirmed total coliform was isolated to the cistern and lower distribution area. Samples collected at the wells were coliform absent. Samples collected once water was rerouted around the new waterline were coliform absent. The waterline was disinfected according to OAR 333-061-0050(10). Samples collected after disinfection and flushing were coliform absent before returning the waterline to service. Four routine samples collected February 14th were absent of coliform. The water system has experienced four coliform investigations since July 2016. OAR 333-061-0032(6)(g) requires installation of disinfection for the purpose of maintaining a detectable residual in the distribution system when persistent total coliform triggers four or more coliform investigations within a two year period. The due date to install disinfection is March 29, 2017. The requirement to install secondary disinfection may be postponed if the water system can demonstrate no presence of coliform in the distribution system. ACTION NEEDED: A site visit will be scheduled this spring to inspect the new Well #5 and storage reservoir.
