| Details: | SUMMARY: Diesel spill in source water (Canyon Creek) DETAILS: Matt Giles with the City of Canyonville contacted DWS to let us know there was a diesel spill by a truck crashing into Canyon Creek on Saturday evening (4/15/17). The truck was not removed until the next day (4/16/17). The water treatment plant was not running at the time and was not turned on again until all the fuel spilled was cleaned up. The water system contemplated using the OShea Creek source but didnt end up needing to use it at all. ODOT pressure washed the intake until it was clean of all residue. Now that the fuel has been cleaned up the water system will now begin producing water from the Canyon Creek source. The system is collecting raw water and finished water samples to be put in storage if samples need to be analyzed in the future. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to monitor for any signs of contaminents in the water. | ||
