| Details: | SUMMARY: online turbidimeter went out DETAILS: Dave phoned yesterday to say their online turbidimeter went out and he has been taking grab samples instead every 4 hours. He wanted to make sure he was still in compliance. I told him yes, and found the rule reference today - OAR 333-061-0036(5)(d)(A) gives a system their size a maximum of 14 days to resume continuous monitoring before there is a violation, as long as they take the 4-hr samples. Their turbidimeter stopped working 4/26/17. New one was ordered on 4/27, arrival estimated in 10 days. Meanwhile, he has been measuring turbidity every 4 hrs while the plant is running. By this weekend, however, a borrowed online turbidimeter will up and running for the short term, making the grab samples unnecessary. The new Langlois turbidimeter should be delivered & installed by May 11 at the latest. ACTION NEEDED: Emailed Dave the OAR citation above. | ||
