| Details: | SUMMARY: Water Quality Alert DETAILS: Glenn called and reported the Arsenic result from a sample drawn on 4-12-17 was above the MCL. Discussion: As the average between this sample and one drawn a few weeks ago exceeds the MCL, an arsenic sample is required quarterly through this year and based on the running annual average it will be determined if treatment is required (as well as public notice). I told him I would provide some OHA documents about health effects from arsenic exposure to consider and noted the need to disclose this in the annual CCR. I also suggested collecting an arsenic sample from the two wells that are currently in production. Doing so might show how to blend water in a way to minimize the health effects of arsenic on consumers. I noted this is not a sure thing as I cant outright explain the variations in arsenic detections over the past many years. ACTION NEEDED: Begin quarterly sampling for arsenic, July 2017. | ||
