| Details: | SUMMARY: Regulatory Assistance DETAILS: Overview of purchased water from Chiloquin Municipal Water (00184) to supply NPS Annie Springs (01080) for Crater Lake National Park.I have been in contact with the above representatives as well as Phillip Gibson of Crater Lake Park to assist in the safe transfer of water from Chiloquin Municipal Water, hauling procedures, transfer of water into the Annie Creek System, and disinfection and residual sampling to assure safe water. I have also discussed procedures with operator Pete Pate of Chiloquin Water and the owner of Action Sanitary, the hauling company, to minimize risk of contamination. I will oversee initial complete rounds of the water haul beginning Friday May 12, 2017 to assure sanitary practices. Loads will record chlorine concentrations into Annie Springs System and be sampled for coliform upon initial delivery by Crater Lake NPS. CLNPS will add post-delivery disinfection in addition to the 1ppm concentration at hauling. CLNPS will also provide me with weekly chlorine residuals at user points within the park, and the park is aware of the potential challenge of initial chlorine concentration regulating throughout the system.
