Details: | SUMMARY: High Nitrate Sample DETAILS: Once again, they sampled high for Nitrates. The park is aware of the Nitrate problem. The well is drilled about 50 from a lake. A few other water systems around the lake experience the high Nitrates. From talking with Box R Labs, she mentioned that there is a lot of run-off from fertilization and animal waste. The Nitrate is heavy, so it settles to the bottom of the lake. Therefore, it might seep into the aquifer and result higher than normal levels of Nitrate. They are already on quarterly monitoring. ACTION NEEDED: If they go above the 10ppm, then they will have to seek treatment. | ||
