Details: | SUMMARY: DISINFECTION BYPRODUCTS DETAILS: Belloni Boys Ranch owns and operates a small water system that pulls water from Davis Creek and treats the water to comply with the LT1. Treatment is achieved through bag filters with post chlorination. The water is then pumped up to a 5,000 gallon water storage tank. From here the water gravity feeds back down to the primary residence. Recently, significant improvements were made to the treatment train in 2012 and 2013 (including chemical and physical pre-treatment). The Circuit Rider was contacted by OHA to provide assistance with disinfection byproducts. The September 2015 sample exceeded the MCL for both TTHM and HAA5. The water system reported that Davis Creek was high in color the weeks preceding the September sample. In February 2016, the Circuit Rider made operational recommendations for reducing DBPs. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Betsy Parry (OHA) to verify that the new treatment description for SDWIS is correct. In addition, Betsy wanted to revisit the operational recommendations for DBP reduction. Corresponded with OHA staff regarding DBP reduction recommendations. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance with operations as needed. |
