| Details: | 6/16/21: System reached out to DWS in response to the possible future chlorine supply shortage inquiring about 1) ceasing prechlorination to conserve sodium hypochlorite supply and 2) temporarily feeding 12.5% sodium hypochlorite to help extend chlorine gas supply. System ceased prechlorination the afternoon of 6/16/21. 6/17/21: DWS Staff informed system ceasing prechlorination was an option assuming CT is met, sodium hypochlorite would have to be NSF 60/61 certified, and to keep DWS Staff updated. 6/28/21: System has about 11,000 lbs of chlorine on hand with usage around 750 lbs per day estimating a supply of 14 days. However, they are expecting 26-300 gallon totes of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite tomorrow (6/29) and 3 tons of chlorine later in the week. System is continuing without prechlorination as a chlorine saving measure. 6/29/21: With supply on hand system is estimating a supply of 27-30 days. 7/6/21: Pre-chlorination will resume on 7/12/21. 8/13/21: On the evening of 8/12 system exhausted sodium hypochlorite supply and switched back to chlorine gas for prechlorination. |
