Details: | SUMMARY: Operations DETAILS: The Langlois Water District is a small water system located in rural Curry County outside of Bandon. They own and operate a community water system serving 116 connections. Water supply comes from a new infiltration gallery in Floras Creek. Water is treated through a packaged rapid media filter and delivered to a water tank on site. When the water treatment system tank reaches low level a modulating float valve calls for water and fills the tank. 3/29/17 – Met with Dave Terrusa onsite, who gave a tour of the system and provided photos of the inside of the CLA-VAL modulating valve and photos of debris found in sink strainer after cleaning the CLA-VAL modulating valve. The modulation valve is installed within 8” an existing pump.Based on our field visit and the information gathered we recommend that the modulating valve be relocated to the top of the piping closer to the float control. The existing location of the valve should be retrofitted with a strainer basket filter or similar to remove some of the larger debris before entering the modulating valve. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. |
