| Details: | SUMMARY: E coli in untreated water DETAILS: Mark of Marks Plumbing/Construction collected the recent nitrate, arsenic and coliform samples at Eighty Acres and shipped them to the lab. E. coli was found present. This is not surprising because it is untreated surface water. Gave Mark information on the 3 required repeat samples - one from the same location (holding tank), and two others from elsewhere in the distribution lines, but before any filters at the individual houses. Mark is contacting the Water Co-op president, Don Pedro, to get permission to collect repeats. The next local pickup for the Coos Bay lab is Monday. I also left a message for the Water Co-op secretary, Kim Bishop, because she will be receiving an automatically generated letter about this. She will need to update their boil notice about the fecal contamination, but perhaps wait till we hear the results of the repeat tests. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of repeat coliform samples. Contact Don Pedro in the near future to learn what solutions they have been researching. | ||
