| Details: | SUMMARY: enforcment MPA DETAILS: Had a conferernce call with all board members, Joe Carlson, Brad Daniels, Shawn Stevenson and myself to discuss long standing requirements to collect MPA samples. The system has only partially complied with the requirement from 7 years ago. Discussed escalating enforcement actions that would occur if PWS did not collect 4 more required MPA results which are 3 more MPA samples from well #4 and one more MPA from well #5. PWS agreed to collect the remaining MPAs before April 30th 2018. A compliance schedule will be created for one MPA sample to be collected from well #4 before 9/30/17 and the remaining two additional MPAs in wet weather months for well #4 and one more initial wet weather MPA for well #5 before 4/30/18. The board unanimously agreed to collect the required samples and are committed to providing safe drinking water. I sent a follow-up email 7/25/17 summarizing the discussion and that wells #4 and #5 are improperly constructed so if the MPA results indicate these two sources are groundwater, then reconstruction of these sources, if remain active, will be required according to the groundwater rule options. A letter will be sent to the PWS after the required MPA results are submitted. ACTION NEEDED: collect remaining MPA samples and comply with remaining ground water rule options after MPA results are submitted. | ||
