Details: SUMMARY: Nitrate Alert for 1/2 MCL DETAILS: System took confirmation samples following 7/14 MCL+ results. Well #1 which just had nitrate treatment installed was 8.0 and well #2 which has had consistently high resutls was ND? Called Kodiak and Umpqua Lab and both samples were labeled B". Discsused with both Kodiak and Janine and they clarified which sample was from which well. The 8.0 was from well #2 and ND from well #1 post treatment. Janine at Umpqua has submitted data correction to DWP.Well #2 was 8.0 and when averaged with the 7/14 sample is 10.25 (MCL =10.49). ACTION NEEDED: Continue to take quarterly samples from well #2 to ensure it remains below the MCL. Any results above the MCL will require a confirmation sample and if the average of the results exceeds 10.49 mg/L, treatment will be required just like well #1. Recommend researching treatment options for well #2 (treatment unit like well #1 for well 2, or can existing unit accommodate both wells if piped together and blended prior to treatment, etc)Continue to take annual nitrate from well #1 post treatment to ensure unit is functioning properly.
