Details: SUMMARY: Chemical Alert for >1/2 MCL Nitrate DETAILS: Annual nitrates from both wells were more than 1/2 the MCL (5.07 and 6.54). System has had R&C nitrate results between 4-8 mg/L for many years. System is in a high nitrate zone, has a septic drainfield upslope, etc. but has not yet exceeded 10mg/L. Called Dan and he just sold RV park. There is a possibility of city water across the street with new deveolopment. ACTION NEEDED: Continued annual nitrate monitoring. If results ever exceed 10 mg/L, a confirmation sample will be averaged with initial to determine if above the MCL. If above, treatement or alternate source will be required. I will contact new owner and update information.
