Details: | SUMMARY: Did not meet CT in August DETAILS: Sheryl (concessionaire from American Land and Leisure) asked about a violation postcard. Emailed her back that it was for not meeting CT every day in August. Explained that this is a Tier 2 violation that requires public notice within 30 days, but the seasonal system had closed soon thereafter, on Sept 12. The 10-point violation will remain on record until reports next season show that problem is not recurring. Furthermore, I listed several concerns with the August report: • Typed in signature on page 1 certifies that they met the required CT every day, but in fact they did not on two days. • Signature was dated 8/1/17, which cannot be true if operator reviewed the August data.• Those two facts could give one the impression that the certification was simply copied from a previous report without proper review.• Page 2 of the report is labeled July 2016 rather than August 2017. Spoke to Sandy Ratliff at USFS by phone (541-822-7238), the interim USFS contact for this system while Dave Sanders is on an assignment elsewhere. Sandy agreed the erroneous certification line is unacceptable. She asked me to send the email to Sheryl Fox and to cc her to send up the line, for their annual contract review and to emphasize to future concessionaire staff. ACTION NEEDED: None for this season. Violations for treatment technique and public notice may be returned to compliance next season if future monthly submissions show the treatment and reporting problems are not recurring. |
