| Details: | Background/Problem Identification: A major water system upgrade is necessary from supply to storage to distribution. The system is currently experiencing contamination and realizes they need to fix their system. The District is in dire need of funding support. FEMA, due to the County’s declared disaster area, is a prime funding source for this water system. It was recently learned that for ORWD to qualify for FEMA funding, the Lincoln County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (NHMP) must be amended to specifically include them, by name, for FEMA to recognize them as a qualifying entity. Assistance Provided: Continued coordination with FEMA and District Board to evaluate probable funding success and requirements. Reach out to County officials to engage the effort to amend the County’s NHMP. Follow-Up Actions Needed: Proceed with a FEMA application and promote action by the County to amend the NHMP.
