Details: | SUMMARY: Level 2 Investigation Follow-up DETAILS: On 1/12/18, a Level 2 investigation found that the underground storage tank has a leak at the base of the riser and that the tank was being tested for source samples and not the well. The school is taking bids to install gutters and a french drain around the building to divert water away from the tank. Once this occurs then they will address getting the tank re-sealed. The well was tested and found to be absent for bacteria. On 1/26/18, an excavator was brought in to begin trenching. The tank was inspected and found to have cloudy water in it. A 5,000 gallon poly tank was brought in to replace the under ground tank. The poly tank has been plumbed in and connected to the well. A boil water notice was posted. The poly tank will remain in place until the underound tank can be professionally inspected. The well is very low flow. Water was trucked in from the City of Philomath to supplement until the well can catch up. Russ Kazmierczak was notified and has been advising me on the situation. The system is due to be tested on 1/31/18. If test comes back absent for bacteria the BWN will be lifted. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for the results of the distribution sample. The water system is due for a survey in 2018. If the poly tank reamins in place a building will be installed around it. |
